Some days it’s a struggle just to get out of bed
Get stuck in the prison that I’ve built inside my head
Can’t find any answers to the questions I’ve asked
Can’t find motivation for the simplest tasks
I know it’s a sickness and it won’t heal itself
And people say we should embrace mental health
But all I see are tired cliches and self diagnosis
So i slap on a smile and hope that no one will notice

Worst part is I fully understand what is wrong
But instead of making changes I just write these stupid songs
I guess my excuse is this is my therapy
Get it down get it out get back to being free
Spew some bile for a while cus it’s better out than in
This shit is cathartic DIY counselling
So if you feel the same then I’m glad that you came
So you can witness my shame
And realise we’re all

I’m not being critical I’m just hyper cynical
Cus no brain is perfect and that’s what makes us beautiful
So celebrate the dark days, they make way for the light
